Students from Ateneo de Zamboanga University taking BS in Information Technology major in Multimedia and Animation were recently recognized as finalists to the Animahenasyon Competition held last Novemeber 25 - 28, 2009 at the Gateway Mall, Araneta Center in Metro Manila.

• Tennyl Dhem Canlas for Tenyl's Demo Reel (TVC/ OBB/ Demo Reel Category)
• Jervin Yap and BSIT 4 students for Guatsinggo (.(Short Film Student Category)

Zabala mentioned during an interview that even though they did not win in their respective categories, hey are happy and grateful that they were considered as finalists among the number of entries. They were even more fortunate that they were able to attend the competition in Manila and watched their works shown over the big screen in the Gateway cinemas.
